Have your MS Word application is taking too long in opening? Today I am going to share some simple tips on improving Word performance. Disable Word Add-ins : MS Word has lots of features including add-ins. These add-ins are enabled by default and make Word slow. So disable the add-ins that you don’t require. To disable add-ins go to Word Options-> Click Add-Ins in General Category. Unselect the add-ins that you don’t use. Disable spell checker: In Word, spell and grammar checker option is enabled by default. When you type something this option becomes enabled automatically and degrade Word performance. Are you unable to start your QuickBooks file? Don't worry! These things happen with QuickBooks. Sometimes when you click on QuickBooks to start the program, it does not start. You can try below simple methods to resolve this issue. Restart your system: Sometimes just restarting of system can solve the problem. So restart your system and the try to open QuickBooks file. Yesterday I had received an email from my friend regarding an error in MS Access. My friend was getting an error message due to which she was unable to open her Access file. Whenever she clicked on MS Access database shortcut to open her file, an error message pop ups on her screen. Initially I didn't understand the reason behind the error but after searching for hours on internet, I got the solution. The error was: “Cannot find the database you specified, or you didn't specify a database at all”.

When I upgraded to newer version of Excel, I noticed that my Excel file take longer time than usual to open. It is not only one reason for slow performance. Let's discuss the most common problem area: Large Calculation If an Excel file contains large number of calculation then it will take more time in opening. So the best way is to turn off Automatic Calculation option.  To turn off this option; follow below steps: Go to File → Options → Select Formulas → WorkBook Calculations → Select Manual.

It is so irritating when you have to wake up early morning and that too for picking up a stupid call. Yesterday morning my friend called me and said he needed my help in solving MS Word error. Have you ever worked on Word 2010? If yes then you might have noticed that whenever you open any document in Word 2010 and try to edit it, you just can't. To edit or save a document you have to click on the yellow bar that contains Enable Editing button. Once you click on that button then you can edit your document. This is basically a new security feature in Word 2010. The yellow bar on which Enable Editing button appears is known as Protected View. This feature helps in protecting your computer from any virus or any other malicious activity. Sometime, it's really frustrating to click on that yellow button whenever you open a document. If you know your files are safe and you don't need this security feature to appear then disable it.

Here are the simple tricks that you can try to repair your corrupt PPT that you can’t open. Solution 1: Drag the corrupt PPT icon Go to Start-> Run, type %userprofile%\My Document and click ok. Again go to Run, type %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14 and click ok.    Search for Powerpnt.exe icon in the Windows Explorer. Now drag the corrupt PowerPoint icon from one window to another.
