How to Recover Deleted MS Excel File in Excel 2010?

  • For AutoRecover Select ‘Keep the last autosaved version if I close without saving’ box.
How to Recover the MS Excel file?
Recovery of MS Excel file depends upon the last saved version of file.

If you have saved your file then follow below steps:

  • Open your desired MS Excel file.
  • Click on the File tab and go-to the Info section.
  • Select 'when I closed without saving' option from the Versions.
  • Now click on the Restore button to overwrite any previous changes.

If you have not saved your file then follow below steps to recover the file:

  • Click on the File tab and go-to the Info section.
  • Now select 'Recover unsaved workbook' from 'Manage versions'.
  • Now select your desired file and click on the 'Open' button to open the file.
  • Save as the file to save the file at new location.

What happen if you have not enabled the AutoSave & AutoRecover options?

Don't Worry! You can still recover your deleted MS Excel file. You can try below options:

Restore from Recycle Bin
If you have deleted your file with normal delete then your file is still present in recycle bin of your machine. Try to restore your file from there.

Restore from Mail
It may possible that you have mailed your file to someone previously so search your file from your mail. Recovered file may be very old file but you have something of your file.
